My scratchbuilt BG Viper MK IB project ** Finished **
Slowly but surely this thing is taking shape. I've added the detailing on the front part of the fuselage. For this, I made a mold of the details of
the Monogram Viper plus made a mold of the back part of the X-Wing.
http://ca.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/f1steph/detail?.dir=23e0&.dnm=6e87...
I also made a mold of a car radiator for the 2 air vents on this MKII, made a mold of the MG Viper back engines and front intake fans. I will
install the front air vent before installing the bottom part. I also made my first wing layer. I've got a styrene sheet problem. The sheets I've got
are too thin to make a nice wing so I'll have to make 6 of them (3 layers for each sides).

Thanks. The Yahoo picture site sucks pretty bad. For the last 2 weeks, I've been having a hard time accessing my pictures.

1-2 mm styrene is thick enough to add a spacer between to give a taper without flexing. Nice progress so far. I didn't build a recess into mine
because of the amount of work involved. Good on you.

Hey Bob something weird happened to me. I'm building the side engines of the MKII. I'm using 010'' Styrene (from Evergreen) sheets for this. The glue
(Testor in a blue tube) melted the styrene sheets!!! That's the first time I see that. Since you're a big styrene user, did that ever happen to you?

I use the same styrene. If you put too much glue on it can happen. What kind of glue are you using? I use Testor's Tube (Red)?

Mine is the Testor blue tube that has a citrius smell. It's the first time it happens to me. I'll try it again with less glue.

The blue is non-toxic. Good choice except it takes eons to dry. Try a lot less.

Oh I forgot to reply here. I finally used Crazy-glue. It worked. I'm done building the wings. Almost done with the intakes. I had to replaced the
bottom of the fuselage, the new one has a little curve in it. It looks nicer a bit more accurate. I'll take pictures very soon. Stay
tuned............

You know what, I don't even know why the hell I'm scrachbuilding. I also don't have lots of spare time so that's why I only built a max of 5 kits per
year. But this year, I only scrachbuilt kits. And my model inventory isn't going down because of that. I promise that the next one will be a real kit,
I promise............

I was having a hard time with the top intake. I rebuilt it 3 times. Now it's glued so I should be able to glue the side intakes. Damm I'm going nuts,
I'm going nowhere at this speed.

Another step backwards. I rebuilt the top intake. I didn't like it so now I'm satisfied with the new on (it's only the 4th time!!!). Once the Super
Glue is dry, I'll be able to glue it to the main frame. Both side intakes are in place. So now what's built (but will need putty): both wings, rudder,
both lasers. As soon as the top intake is in place, I'll be able to take some pics (I sound like an old scratched vinyl record!!!)

Not yet Bob. I didn't have time to work on it this weekend. I still have to glue the top intake to the main body (the left and right intakes are
glued). I'll take pics right after I promise. Should be soon, very soon (I'm about to glue it right now!!!).

She looks pretty good. Once you get all the components glued and puttied....and painted with primer she will really look good. You did a much better
job than I did!

Thanks guys.. Here's another picture. I made the lower intake (kinda square, not like the real Viper). Since I'll make this Viper with landing gears, I had to
make the front landing bay inside this intake. Next I'll have to fill the big gaps with styrene.
