I use washes but I use 2 different methods, 1 is using watercolors and dish soap for a sluggy wash and the other is using watercolors and window
cleaner for an all over wash, I first make the wash thick or thin depending on use and then paint the areas I want to high lite with the window
cleaner then add the colored wash and let it run along the same rout the cleaner took and it follows the same path .
